FOR THE BITCH TO BE APPROVED by the Stud Owners: Bitch Owner must furnish disclosure of Bitch's breeding/whelping history, copies of the bitch's DNA Certificate, OFA or Penn-Hip Certificate on hips and elbows (or European equivalent) indicating a pass rating, dentition and bite disclosure, current eye clearance within one year, any other clearances done by the Bitch Owner, plus a five generation pedigree, and a copy of bitch's registrations - which all may be sent either USPS or emailed to Stud Owner. Upon receipt and written approval by the Stud Owners for the Bitch to be bred to the Stud, this Stud Contract may then be executed by all parties and will be in full force upon signature by all the parties listed within the Contract.
Stud Owners retain the right to refuse any Bitch for any reason, including but not limited to incompatibility of pedigrees, illness, injury, and/or the timing period required for breeding. If the Bitch is approved, Stud Owners will make every good faith effort to accomodate the breeding of the Bitch.
STUD CONTRACT TO BE EXECUTED UPON APPROVAL OF THE BITCH (updated MAY, 2022)
For the valuable consideration set forth below and pursuant to the terms set forth in this Contract, the following stud and the following bitch will be bred together.

Steve D. Shope & Anne M. Shope are herein referred to as "Stud Owners."
Proof of all health clearances for Rhett, together with pictures of Rhett, proof of titles earned, and pictures of many greats in his pedigree will be furnished upon request, along with a five generation pedigree.
Stud Owners will furnish a copy of the brucellosis test on the Stud prior to the Bitch being bred. Said brucellosis test will be current within one year of the mating (last test for Rhett was 8/2022).
BITCH DESCRIPTION (hereinafater "Bitch"): Must be a minimum of two years of age and be a purebred ASCA registered Australian Shepherd.

Bitch's Brucellosis test must be current within 60 days of the breeding date and proof furnished to Stud Owner prior to the breeding taking place.
Owner of the Bitch are hereinafter referred to as "Bitch Owner," whether singular or plural:
STUD OWNERS AND BITCH OWNER mutually agree:
1) STUD FEE: Two Thousand UNITED STATES DOLLARS ($2,000.00). Note: $1800 special fee to approved bitches coming to Rhett with a WTCH title
ONE HALF the Stud Fee in its entirety is payable by Bitch Owner to the Stud Owners at the time the Bitch arrives to be bred and prior to any collection of Rhett. Any expenses for estrus testing or artificial insemination of the Bitch or collection of the stud including mailing of any sperm collected will be borne by the Bitch Owner and paid directly to the Veterinarian Clinic via prearrangement. THE REMAINING ONE HALF the Stud Fee is due and payble once pups are born or when pups are placed, as agreed to between Bitch Owner and Stud Owners.
2) LITTER PAPERWORK: Stud Owners will sign litter registration paperwork only after the entire Stud Fee has been paid in full and funds have cleared the bank. Any insufficient funds on the Bitch Owner's part will result in an additional fee of $100 per incident and no paperwork will be signed until all the funds have been made good.
3). PUPS FROM THIS BREEDING: Any pup produced with a color disqualification according to the ASCA breed standard must be placed on a spay/neuter contract unless exempted by the Stud Owners. Pups from this litter placed intact must be sold, gifted, or placed with the written understanding they are not to be bred to anything other than a purebred and registered Australian Shepherd (one registered with the Australian Shepherd Club of America) of age (two years or older) with proof of at a minimum certified clearances on hips, elbows and eyes.
5) BOARDING THE BITCH: If the Bitch is to be housed at the Stud Owner's facility, the Boarding fee even if accompanied by the Bitch Owner for the Bitch, is $15 per day. Bitches being flown to the Stud Owners should fly them into the Albuquerque International Airport which is approximately 15 minutes from Stud Owners' facility. Bitch Owner agrees to hold the Stud Owners harmless from any all liability (this includes illness, injury or death of the Bitch or the Bitch Owner or those accompanying the Bitch Owner or Bitch Owner's personal property) while the Bitch Owner or the Bitch are visiting or housed at the Stud Owners' facility. If the Bitch is to be boarded, Stud Owners shall house and care for the bitch according to the Bitch Owner's instructions and timely seek medical attention as the Stud Owners or Bitch Owner deem necessary and applicable. Any medical attention shall be the financial responsibility of the Bitch Owner.
6) GUARANTEES TO BITCH OWNER: Stud Owner guarantees three live and healthy pups to be whelped by any Bitch two to seven years of age. Stud Owner guarantees one live and healthy pup to any Bitch eight years or older. No Bitch under two will be approved for breeding. The Bitch may be rebred to the Stud within a one-year period of time if the quantity guaranteed is not produced. If using fresh sperm, all vet expenses for the initial collection or recollection and insemination and shipping are at the Bitch Owner's expense. If the Stud is no longer viable for reproduction, the stud fee remitted is forfeited by the Bitch Owner.
7) PUPS BORN TO THE BITCH: The Bitch owner will notify the Stud Owners when pups are born (colors and sexes) and when and where pups are placed and any titles earned by the pups.
8) HEALTH ISSUES: The Stud Owners and the Bitch Owner both concur to timely notify each other of any genetic issues that arise in either the Stud, the Bitch or in the puppies produced from this breeding.
9) OTHER TERMS: This Contract cannot be amended or altered without the express written permission of Stud Owners and the Bitch Owner.. If any party to this Contract feels there has been a breach, suit shall be brought in the county and state of the Stud Owners.
10) SIGNATORY CONFIRMATION: By signature below, all parties named herein agree to be bound by the terms and conditions set forth in this Contract.
