Stephanie is Steve and Anne's daughter. Stephanie and Shelby, her daughter, reside here at the ranch and have done so for over ten years. Shelby is a merited junior handler, winning at both the District and National levels. Stephanie is a Breeder Judge for ASCA. Due to Stephanie's health issues, many dogs are coowned between she and Anne and sometimes also Steve. Stephanie has Lupus and Von Willebrand plus ... (sometimes she looses her hair from the treatments she must undergo but she never looses her love of life or passion for the Australian Shepherds). When Stephanie's health allows, Stephanie is the Products Manager for Legends' manuals, videos, dvds, and any StarN website building plus she loves to show her dogs in conformation. When you email us for our products, she normally answers and handles all inquiries. In 2003 Stephanie and Shelby obtained the STARN kennel license from ASCA. Periodically 2004 and thereafter, Steve &/or Anne &/or Stephanie have been and periodically are co-breeding under the Legends StarN combined kennel names. Legends was already HOF when StarN came on the scene. StarN earned its HOF honor solely on its own, separate from Legends (note the titles below). StarN is now very close to Hall of Fame Excellent. Watch for Ally or Sweep or Gracie to give StarN HOFX status in due course. Nobody at Legends or StarN wants to sign off their favorite coowned dog (we have lots of favorites here!) so the dogs are shared and thus that's how the cobreedings came-to-be. Prior to 2004, Stephanie did cobreed a couple of litters solely under the Legends kennel name, since she coowned CH Legends Classy Sassy CD STDdsc ROMIp with Anne when Sassy was bred. Sassy was handled by Stephanie in AKC competitions and could regularly be found sleeping on Stephanie's bed or sitting in her lap evenings during TV times. Sassy was Shelby's first junior's partner. When Anne bought Winnie back, Stephanie went on as a coowner. Winnie went on to earn HOF for her progeny; she even produced two Versatility Champions, one of which is coowned by Stephanie & Anne (MAX). Winnie is now at the Rainbow Bridge. Max has taken Winnie's place on Stephanie's bed:) Max earned his championship with Stephanie on the end of his lead; he's definitely a champion of Stephanie's and Anne's hearts! We hope this explains the relationship between the two kennels: Legends and StarN. All litter planning, whelping, raising, placing and even buybacks plus much follow through was done by both Anne & Stephanie and still is today. (Dorothy & Anne began their kennels at very close to the same time. They co-owned Dee Dee and Manza for a period of time. Steve trained and titled Manza on Stock. Together the two families co-bred some litters by Dee Dee & Manza that included many merits/finals winners. Dorothy's Kennel "Los Suenos" has gone on to earn Hall of Fame Excellent - Legends and Los Suenos haven't cobred any litters for over ten years now but often look back fondly at the two times they did cobreed.)

(When Donalee sent Haley in to be bred to Doc, Anne fell in love with Haley and asked to be a co-breeder on the litter. The litter was whelped at Legends. Anne & Stephanie retained Disney from that co-breeding. Disney is a foundation bitch for the StarN kennel. Thank you, Donalee, for bringing Haley to Doc, our VCH Claugene's son! Disney went on to be a multiple BOB special both intact and altered both, earning many merits, and producing some incredible offspring for the Legends StarN kennels. Disney now has grandkids at Legends & StarN.)

From our WTCH Legends Black Shadow (Major) HX-Adsc PATDsc (pictured below) x Lockeye Katy OTDdsc, we applaud the achievements of the late ADCH Legends Seadog Tack N Jibe owned by Nancy Damarodas/CA (5th in the AKC Agility Finals). Also Congrats to Tack's littermates: Legends Spur (owned by Jo Escabar, AZ), stock titled in ASCA, AHBA, & AKC and his major pointed sister in AKC (Legends Sizzle, owned by Lock-eye Border Collies). It was important to us to see Major's blood contribute to the border collie gene pool, so we produced one litter. Major was an outstanding pet, stockdog, and ranchhand. He earned perfect scores on the PATD course in ASCA. We didn't retain a pup from Major as we wanted to concentrate on our Australian Shepherd kennel foremost, but we certainly felt his blood was worthy of going on and are glad we did the one litter with him. Major also stood to two outside bitches: Congrats to his sons WTCH Zack (owned by Kay in Arizona) and AKC CH On The Lamb Jet, owned by Kathie Woods, NM (Jet is running and picking up quickly advanced stock titles in ASCA, AKC & AHBA). Wow, whoopie for Major's offspring & thank you to the owners of these dogs!!!:) Major is enjoying his retirement; he's OVER fourteen beautiful years of age now.
