Steve Shope is a Stockdog Judge for the Australian Shepherd Club of America and the American Herding Breeds Association plus mid-2012 the American Kennel Club - Steve is a stockdog clinician who has put on clinics and camps in the USA, Canada and some in Europe. Steve has served two terms on the ASCA Stockdog Committee. He's judged stockdog trials at the Nationals level. Steve has handled some of his working trial champion Australian Shepherds to numerous national wins in the ASCA Stockdog finals and specialties (HC Finals; HIT Specialty; two HC Specialty). He has titled numerous other breeds in stock. He's handled ten Australian Shepherds to the WTCH title and one border collie. Steve is currently working on a reproduction of Stockdog 101, video & manual, to be released in February, 2012. Lots of Steve's students and those taking his clinics or attending his doggy camps have titled in AHBA, AKC and/or ASCA and/or placed at the stockdog finals and/or gone on to be stockdog judges themselves.

Anne Shope is a Senior Breeder Judge for conformation and Obedience Judge thru open for the Australian Shepherd Club of America. Anne is the former Committee Chair of the Australian Shepherd Club of America Hall of Fame Committee and Most Versatile Committee. She is the present Committee Chair for the Obedience Committee. Anne is currently the Editor of the Obedience articles for the United States Australian Shepherd Journal. Anne has judged at the Nationals level in conformation & obedience. She's handled a few dogs to National best of breeds and premiers at specialities, put stock, rally and obedience titles on numerous Australian Shepherds. She handled one she bred to #1 bitch/#3 overall in the conformation stats. Anne wrote Practical Obedience and How to Choose, Raise & Train a Puppy. She's currently working on a couple of instructional videos plus a book.

Together Steve, Anne and their daughter, Stephanie, have titled four Australian Shepherds to Versatility Championships.

MORE ABOUT LEGENDS:

We are located one hour southeast of Albuquerque and Santa Fe both not too far from the Manzano Mountains and about 15 miles west of Estancia. Altitude here is about 6500'. Our facility has sorting pens, three arenas, round pen, post advanced course, ranch & farm trial capability, and a guest house. Our dogs have outside pens plus a climate-controlled dog barn. Trials/shows are held here June, August and in the Fall - check out the link in the table so you can participate and/or attend. Sheep and ducks are on site year round; cattle are on site from April to October. At the tennis court, you'll find babygates, obedience equipment, and rally equipment.

We keep our kennel small. We like very single dog to get individual attention, training and loving time, plenty of exercise and be housed appropriate for their needs. We feed grain free dog foods endorsed by the Whole Dog Journal. Treats are also grain free. Pups are raised in our house until close to the 4th week when they are moved to an individual dog run in the climate controlled dog barn. We welcome visitors to the ranch; call and make an appointment.

We run about 5 or 6 house dogs so come ready to get dog hair all over you:) We are a gaited facility for the protection of our dogs - call ahead and we'll have the gate open for your visit.
