Steve and Anne of Legends and Stephanie & Shelby of StarN all live together at the Three Pine Ranch located in Estancia, NM. A link to the ranch is included in the table above. Please take a tour and come see us.
Due to Stephanie's health issues, many dogs are coowned between she and Anne and sometimes also Steve. Stephanie has Lupus, Gastric Peresis, and Von Willebrand plus other immune related diseases ... (sometimes she looses her hair from the bladder treatments or is hospitalized for the gastric peresis but she never looses her love of life or passion for the Australian Shepherds). Stephanie gets plasma for her Von Willebrand. Her daughter Shelby has bipolar, diagnosed in 2011. Both are examples for others, and we appreciate those who pray for each. God is watching over our family. The dogs are definitely the best medicine prescribed to date.
When Stephanie's health allows, Stephanie is the Products Manager for Legends' manuals, videos, dvds, and any StarN website building plus she loves to show her dogs in conformation. When you email us for our products, she normally answers and handles all inquiries. In 2003 Stephanie and Shelby obtained the STARN kennel license from ASCA. Periodically 2004 and thereafter, Steve &/or Anne &/or Stephanie have been and periodically are co-breeding under the Legends StarN combined kennel names. Legends was already HOF when StarN came on the scene. StarN earned its HOF honor solely on its own, separate from Legends (see the progeny page). Both kennels are now HOFX (Hall of Fame Excellent). Prior to 2004, Stephanie did cobreed a couple of litters solely under the Legends kennel name, since she coowned CH Legends Classy Sassy CD STDdsc ROMIp with Anne when Sassy was bred. Sassy was handled by Stephanie in AKC competitions and could regularly be found sleeping on Stephanie's bed or sitting in her lap evenings during TV times. Sassy was Shelby's first junior's partner. When Anne bought Winnie back, Stephanie went on as a coowner. Winnie went on to earn HOF for her progeny; she even produced two Versatility Champions, one of which is coowned by Stephanie & Anne (MAX). Winnie is now at the Rainbow Bridge. Max has taken Winnie's place on Stephanie's bed:) Max earned his championship with Stephanie on the end of his lead; he's definitely a champion of Stephanie's and Anne's hearts! We hope this explains the relationship between the two kennels: Legends and StarN. All litter planning, whelping, raising, placing and even buybacks plus much follow through was done by both Anne & Stephanie and still is today. Stephanie has served as a junior clinician at the Nationals level and presently is on the ASCA Juniors Committee. She'd love to talk dogs with you anytime. You'll find her on Facebook.
